Netanyahu’s Son Insults Macron: “Go to Hell”

2 Mins Read

Yair Netanyahu, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, used harsh language to insult French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron recently announced that they could recognize the state of Palestine.

Yair Netanyahu, in a post from his X account, directed severe remarks towards French President Emmanuel Macron. Quoting Macron’s announcement of supporting the legitimate rights of Palestinians to have a state, Yair insulted Macron with the phrase “Go to hell!” Yair also expressed support for the independence of New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Corsica, the Basque Country, and French Guinea in the same insulting post towards the French President. Yair Netanyahu’s offensive posts on social media have caused controversies in the past. Yair had previously claimed on social media during the campaign period of the 2020 general elections that opposition leader Benny Gantz was involved in an “inappropriate relationship” with an activist from the alliance he led. Due to these allegations, an Israeli court ruled that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s son Yair must pay approximately $34,000 in compensation for “insult and defamation.” Last year, in March, Prime Minister Netanyahu imposed restrictions on his son Yair’s use of social media.

MACRON’S MESSAGE ABOUT THE STATE OF PALESTINE French President Macron, in an interview on France 5 channel after his 2-day visit to Egypt, stated, “We must move towards recognizing Palestine and we could achieve this in the coming months.” Macron mentioned that they aimed to conclude the issue of recognizing Palestine at an international conference on the two-state solution that they would co-chair with Saudi Arabia.

TWO-STATE SOLUTION AND RECOGNITION OF PALESTINE Israel, which continues to occupy Palestinian territories and does not lean towards a two-state solution, reacted to Macron’s statement that they could recognize the state of Palestine in the near future. Following Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the number of countries recognizing Palestine had reached 146 with decisions made by countries such as Spain, Norway, Ireland, Slovenia, Armenia, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Barbados.
