Morgan Stanley: First interest rate cut expected in January

Morgan Stanley predicted that the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey will make its first interest rate cut in January. It was noted in the analysis that an attractive point is expected for entry into the Turkish banking sector. Economists at Morgan Stanley evaluated the Turkish economy. Emphasizing the attractive point for entering the banking sector, economists predicted January for the interest rate cut. Morgan Stanley economists lowered their average net income estimates for Turkish banks in 2025-2026 by an average of 19 percent. Meanwhile, the institution announced its exchange rate forecast for this year as 36 lire, with a forecast of 45 lire for 2025. Pointing out the Central Bank’s steps to fight inflation, Morgan Stanley economists pointed to January for the first interest rate cut. The institution expects interest rates to be lowered to 42.5 percent by March.
