The Yemeni Houthi rebels announced that they carried out attacks on Tel Aviv and Ashkelon in Israel. The Houthis stated that they will continue targeting Israel until the attacks in Gaza and Lebanon cease.
The Iran-backed Yemeni Houthis claimed to have fired ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv.
Additionally, the Houthis announced that they sent unmanned aerial vehicles to the southern city of Ashkelon in Israel.
In a statement from the group, it was said, “Our military operations against Israel will continue until the attacks in Gaza and Lebanon end.”
The Israeli army had previously announced today that a missile fired from Yemen had been intercepted after the sound of sirens and explosions were heard. In a statement from the army, it was mentioned that “Following the sirens heard in central Israel, a ground-to-ground missile fired from Yemen was intercepted by an ‘Arrow’ interception system outside Israeli territory.”
It was noted that there were no changes in the defense protocols. The Houthi group in Yemen has been showing solidarity with the Palestinians by launching missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles at Israel since the start of the Gaza conflict on October 7th.
