The Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, stated, “We have identified homes for nearly 7,000 families and are working day and night for 9,603 houses in Adıyaman.” Minister Kurum shared footage of the ongoing constructions in İndere, Adıyaman, on his social media account. He mentioned, “We are in operation in 11 provinces, with 153,000 workers in 159 construction sites. İndere, Adıyaman is Turkey’s largest construction site with an area of 5 million square meters. We have identified homes for nearly 7,000 families and are working day and night for 9,603 houses.” The ministry’s statement also highlighted that construction processes in earthquake-affected provinces are progressing, particularly in Adıyaman, where 8,000 workers and 750 machines are working on residential and living areas at the construction site established by Emlak Konut. The announcement disclosed that within the project framework, 16,433 permanent houses and commercial spaces will be built, with 6,830 lottery-drawn houses already under construction, and 9,603 houses in progress, designed in accordance with horizontal architecture and limited to ground+4 levels. Ersev Kuzdan, the Regional Director of Emlak Konut Adıyaman, emphasized that İndere region was chosen due to its rocky terrain and reassured that the housing units are earthquake-resistant, saying, “We use a tunnel formwork system for our production. Therefore, our houses are resilient. Our citizens can rest assured. We are building sturdy structures on solid ground.” Kuzdan also noted the completion of a mosque within the project scope and emphasized the creation of a robust, safe, and modern city beyond housing constructions.
