Minister Işıkhan: We will protect the minimum wage against inflation

Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, stated, “We will protect the minimum wage against inflation.” Işıkhan emphasized that they aim to preserve the purchasing power of citizens. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, made important statements regarding the minimum wage. He said, “We will protect the minimum wage against inflation” and highlighted that the process will be carried out fairly. Speaking to Yeni Şafak newspaper, Minister of Labor and Social Security Işıkhan stated that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission takes into account various factors such as the current inflation rate, macroeconomic balances, and purchasing power. Expressing their commitment to preserving the well-being of citizens by producing sustainable welfare solutions, as frequently emphasized by President Erdoğan, Işıkhan said, “We will proceed this year as we did in December last year. I hope for an agreement on a wage level that will not subject citizens to inflation and will preserve their purchasing power.” He added, “Workers are important stakeholders for us.” Minister Işıkhan also highlighted that they act as arbitrators between the demands of workers and employers, stating, “If this year brings a similar development as last year when Türk-İş brought workers, we will be pleased to welcome the workers in December. Workers are important stakeholders for us.”
