Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat stated today that millions of citizens continue to shop without heeding the boycott calls, showing support for their merchants, trade, Turkey, and economy, thereby also supporting production and employment. Minister Bolat, in a social media post, thanked the rational, patriotic citizens who continue shopping despite boycott calls, supporting the national economy, local brands, production, and trade. He expressed that the government, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will continue to work tirelessly and unwaveringly. Bolat noted: “The day after Eid al-Fitr and during the holiday period, despite destructive and disruptive boycott calls, millions of citizens are continuing their shopping.

In doing so, they are supporting their merchants, trade, Turkey, and economy, thereby also supporting production and employment. We thank our citizens, as well as the boards of merchants and trade chambers, and business organizations for their active support in this fight.

We thank our people, merchants, and traders for displaying the most beautiful example of national unity, solidarity, and cooperation. We will make the century of Turkey the century of trade. Together, we are a strong and great Turkey.”
