According to information provided by the Emergency Services institution of the Asturias autonomous community, an explosion happened at a coal mine in Degana at 09.30 local time (GMT 10.30), resulting in at least two fatalities. Officials noted that following the explosion, 3 individuals were severely injured, and 4 were reported missing. A spokesperson for the Asturias regional government announced that at the time of the explosion, the mine workers were conducting authorized work on a mineral for graphite production. Numerous ambulances, firefighters, and civil aid teams were dispatched to the area.
