Regarded as an act of protest against the agreements Microsoft made with Israel, a software engineer was dismissed from the company during Microsoft’s 50th-anniversary party.
It has been reported that the American tech giant Microsoft let go of the Moroccan employee Ibtihal Aboussad, who protested against the services the company provided to Israel.
In an email sent to Aboussad by the company, it was expressed: “At Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman’s speech during the company’s 50th-anniversary event, in front of thousands of attendees, you screamed, pointed fingers at him, and made baseless and hostile accusations against the CEO, the company, and Microsoft in general, thus rudely interrupting the speech.”
It was stated that, while the CEO tried to maintain calm and defuse the situation, Aboussad was ejected due to their aggressive behavior.
The email mentioned, “The company concluded that your inappropriate behavior was designed to gain notoriety and inflict maximum harm to this highly anticipated event. Your failure to apologize is concerning and you have shown no remorse for the impact of your actions, past or future.”
According to the email, the software developer Aboussad, who worked at the Canada office, was dismissed from their position on Monday.
Another software engineer, Vaniya Agrawal from India, who had decided to resign before the protest and was preparing to leave the job on April 11, had their resignation processed immediately on Monday, April 7.
