Erdal Bahçıvan, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, stated that the damage in inflation is greater than anticipated. He emphasized the need for actors outside of the Central Bank to also get involved. During a television interview, Bahçıvan praised the Central Bank’s efforts in combating inflation but argued that it was being burdened excessively. He stated that unfortunately, inflation is still persistent and urged for patience. Bahçıvan highlighted that the most crucial requirement for interest rates to decrease is a drop in inflation, mentioning that the industrial sector pays the highest price in high-interest environments.
