The countdown is on for the decision of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on interest rates. Economists point out that the messages to be given to the markets by the Central Bank will be closely monitored. So, when will the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting be held? All eyes are on the interest rate decision in the domestic market. The meeting schedule of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) for the year 2025 has been announced. Unlike previous years, this year the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet a total of 8 times instead of 12. Additionally, the bank plans to publish 8 MPC meeting summaries, 4 inflation reports, and 2 financial stability reports within the scope of the year 2025. According to the schedule set for 2025, the third meeting of the Central Bank will be held on April 17, and there will be no meeting in May. The decisions taken after the MPC meeting will be announced to the public at 14:00 on the same day. In March, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) reduced the policy rate from 45 percent to 42.5 percent by cutting it by 250 basis points. The policy rate refers to the one-week repo auction interest rate. It was stated in the announcement that tight monetary policy will continue to aim at meeting inflation expectations and ensuring price stability. The summer meetings of the MPC will be held between June 19 and July 24. There will be no meeting in August. After the meetings to be held on September 11 and October 23, there will be no meeting in November. The last meeting of the year will be held on December 11, 2025.
