The Investment Advisory Council convened in Istanbul today for the first time in 8 years. The meeting, attended by global corporations, will discuss the direct investment opportunities in Turkey. The combined size of the companies participating in the meeting amounts to $3.5 trillion.
Istanbul is currently hosting a critical summit for investments. The 10th meeting of the Investment Advisory Council, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, commenced in Istanbul.
The opening speech of the meeting, the first held since 2016 at Dolmabahçe Working Office, was delivered by President Erdoğan.
Senior executives of the world’s most important companies are attending the meeting, with their total size approximating $3.5 trillion.
GLOBAL GIANTS PARTICIPATING
World-renowned companies from 13 different countries in the energy, automotive, technology, asset management, financial services, transportation, and telecommunications sectors are participating in the meeting. Among them are companies like Templeton Asset Management, Qatar Investment Authority-QIA, Vitol, Emirates NBD, Mitsubishi Corporation, Chery, ACWA Power, MASDAR, and BRF.
DECLARATION OF RESULTS
During the meeting, international investors will share their evaluations of the investment environment in Turkey. It is anticipated that a declaration of results, following consultations with investor companies, will be announced. As in previous years, the declaration of results is planned to be made public by a representative of the participating company after the Investment Advisory Council meeting.
MINISTER ŞİMŞEK TO DELIVER A PRESENTATION
President Erdoğan, along with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Presidential Strategy and Budget Chairman İbrahim Şenel, Presidency Investment Office President Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, and representatives of business organizations are all participating in the meeting. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek is also expected to deliver a presentation during the meeting.
PRESENTING OPPORTUNITIES IN TURKEY
The meeting will introduce global business to the investment opportunities available in Turkey. Foreign investors will be informed about opportunities in digital transformation, green transformation, and global supply chains.
