Researchers at the University of Birmingham in England have discovered that a 78-year-old British man has three penises. Two extra penises were found buried in the man’s scrotum. Although the man’s genitalia appeared normal from the outside, a more detailed examination revealed two additional small penises inside his groin area. Medical experts published this noteworthy discovery in an article submitted to the Medical Case Reports Journal. According to the report, the man, whose identity remains confidential, suffered from triphallia disease. Triphallia is a congenital anomaly that defines the presence of three distinct penis shafts. Researchers emphasized that the condition of being born with multiple penises, known as polyphallia, is extremely rare, occurring only in 5 to 6 million live births.
TRIPHALLIA ALSO OBSERVED IN A 3-MONTH-OLD BABY
There are few reports on triphallia, a condition where a person has two penises. However, triphalia was previously reported in a 3-month-old baby where an extra glans protruded from both the penis shaft and scrotum. Yet, the baby’s organs were ultimately merged into a single penis through a 6-hour-long operation.
