In Russia, a man was attacked by a bear in the forest. The man managed to escape the bear by pretending to be dead while it was eating his face. He then waited for hours to be rescued. The incident took place in a forest approximately 125 kilometers from Moscow, the capital of Russia. Reports indicate that bears have been more frequently seen in the area recently. The man, who was collecting antlers shed by deer, was attacked by the bear. The man’s uncle recounted that the bear started by gnawing at his skull, then turned his face to eat it. Somehow, the man played dead and the bear left him alone.
After the attack, the injured man called an ambulance. The emergency services searched for him in the depths of the forest near the village of Yeremeevo for hours before he was finally airlifted to the hospital. While bear hunting is allowed in most parts of Russia, it is prohibited in the Moscow region. Some individuals in Russia venture into the forest to collect antlers which can be sold for up to 15,000 rubles each, equivalent to around two-thirds of the country’s monthly minimum wage.
