Due to expanded concerns of a broader conflict in the Middle East, German airline company Lufthansa has reportedly extended the duration of flight cancellations to Iran and Lebanon. The company announced that it will not continue flights to Tehran and Beirut in the coming months for operational reasons. The statement mentioned that connections to Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, have been suspended until February 28, 2025, while flights to Tehran have been put on hold until January 31, 2025. Lufthansa has repeatedly prolonged flight cancellations to the Middle East due to heightened security concerns following Israel’s attacks. Earlier this week, Lufthansa announced that the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv has been extended until November 10. The Lufthansa Group includes subsidiaries like Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines.
