The BIST 100 index on the Borsa Istanbul started the day at 9,041 points, rising by 0.10 percent. At the opening, the BIST 100 index increased by 9.11 points and 0.10 percent to reach 9,040.75 points compared to the previous close. The banking index lost 0.12 percent, and the holding index lost 0.09 percent in value. Among sector indexes, trade gained the most with 1.11 percent, while the primary metal industry lost the most with 0.54 percent. Following a sales-oriented trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul ended the day at 9,031.64 points, losing 0.85 percent.
GLOBAL MARKETS
In global markets, mixed trends are observed after the employment data announced last week in the US, where increasing expectations that the Federal Reserve (Fed) will continue its cut interest rate process in smaller steps. In the pricing of money markets, the possibility of a 25 basis point interest rate cut by the Fed in November stands at 87 percent, with the possibility of a 50 basis point interest rate cut completely eliminated.
LEVELS TO BE WATCHED
Analysts expressed that today’s domestic data agenda will be calm, while the balance of trade in the US will be monitored internationally, mentioning that technically, the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,200 and 9,300, with support positions at 8,850 and 8,700 points.
