Kremlin Unwilling to Approve Truce: “A Breather for Ukrainian Army”

Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov stated that the temporary ceasefire meant “nothing more than a breather for the Ukrainian army.” Emphasizing that the 30-day ceasefire had no benefit for Russia, Ushakov’s comments were echoed by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, who expressed disappointment over the lack of a meaningful response to the ceasefire proposal.

According to Russian media reports, a high-ranking Kremlin official discussed the proposed temporary ceasefire by the administration of US President Donald Trump.

Yuri Ushakov, an advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, gave an interview to the Russia-1 TV channel.

“NO BENEFIT FOR RUSSIA” According to the channel’s report, Kremlin advisor Ushakov told Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Waltz that the temporary ceasefire meant “nothing more than a breather for the Ukrainian army.”

Ushakov emphasized that the 30-day ceasefire had no benefit for Russia.

“NO MEANINGFUL RESPONSE FROM RUSSIA” During talks in Saudi Arabia, the US and Ukraine agreed on a 30-day ceasefire plan. However, Russia’s response to this proposal remained uncertain. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that “we unfortunately did not receive a meaningful response from Russia” regarding the ceasefire offer.
