Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov made a statement regarding the negotiations that took place yesterday between Russian and US experts. Peskov explained that the content will not be shared with the public because the discussions covered detailed topics.

In a briefing with journalists, Spokesman Peskov evaluated the current agenda.

Peskov stated, “We are talking about very detailed, technical negotiations that took more than 12 hours between Russian and US experts in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. Since technical negotiations involve detailed discussions, the content of these talks will not be disclosed to the public. The results of the negotiations were reported to the capitals. However, it will be possible to talk about some sort of agreement as a result.”

TRILATERAL MEETING NOT POSSIBLE

Peskov also mentioned that a trilateral meeting involving Russia, the US, and Ukraine is not currently under consideration.

Peskov clarified that there is no planned meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump at the moment, but added that such a meeting could be organized immediately if necessary. Russian delegation leader: “Negotiations were very beneficial for Russia and the US.” US and Russian officials discussed achieving a partial ceasefire in the war in Ukraine and Ukrainian grain initiatives during the talks in Riyadh yesterday.

NEGOTIATIONS TO CONTINUE

Grigory Karasin, the Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council and head of the Russian negotiation delegation, described the talks as “intense and challenging,” but underlined that they were “very beneficial for Russia and the US.”

Karasin stated, “Of course, we are far from solving everything, from agreeing on every point, but it is understood that such discussions are very timely.”

Karasin noted that negotiations will continue with other countries.

“RUSSIA SUPPORTS RESUMPTION OF BLACK SEA INITIATIVE” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also mentioned in a statement to state television Channel One about the talks in Riyadh, where the issue of reviving the Black Sea grain initiative was discussed.

Lavrov expressed, “We are in favor of restarting the Black Sea initiative in a more acceptable manner to everyone,” highlighting that this issue was prioritized during the talks in Riyadh.

Lavrov emphasized Russia’s clear stance and stated that they cannot rely on the word of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said, “Russia wants the grain market, the fertilizer market to be predictable so that no one can try to push Russia out of these markets,” emphasizing the importance of clear guarantees when Russia resumes the Black Sea initiative. He added, “The Russian delegation in Riyadh conveyed to American officials that Moscow will not tolerate any ambiguity regarding its proposals for the Black Sea. Russia will need clear guarantees when restarting the Black Sea initiative. This can only be ensured by Washington giving orders to Zelensky.”
