Kremlin: Europe Needs to Focus on Peace

2 Mins Read

The spokesperson for the Kremlin, Dmitri Peskov, emphasized the need for Europe to focus on peace, stating that “Europe is talking about war and militarizing itself.” Peskov also highlighted the significant potential for collaboration between Russia and the United States.

In an interview with Rossiya-1 television channel, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov evaluated the current agenda. Peskov stated that the United States influences global politics and mentioned the vast potential for cooperation between Russia and the United States in various fields.

EVALUATING THE PHONE CALL Peskov assessed the latest phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, highlighting that it was one of their longest conversations and brought them closer to a face-to-face meeting. Peskov used the words, “There is definitely a trusting, sincere, and constructive atmosphere between the two leaders.” Peskov also pointed out the attacks by the Ukrainian military on Russian energy infrastructure, noting that while the Kiev administration promises a lot, they have not followed through, unlike the Russian side.

“WAR CANNOT BE STOPPED WITHOUT RESOLVING THE UKRAINE CRISIS” Peskov discussed Europe’s approach to the Ukraine crisis, stating, “Europe needs to focus on peace. Instead, Europe is talking about war and militarizing itself. This is very interesting. Instead of considering resolving the root causes of the Ukraine crisis – without which the war cannot be stopped – NATO is planning to deploy troops to Ukraine.” Peskov also expressed concerns about French President Emmanuel Macron’s plans to use French nuclear capabilities for European security, calling it “very dangerous.” Spokesperson Dmitri Peskov shared hope that eventually, Europe will be led by true politicians who prioritize peace.
