The number of products that have been tampered with to endanger people’s lives and health has risen to 72, with Köfteci Yusuf being added to the list on the grounds of pork being found in their products. The Ministry has updated the information on the website “guvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr”. In the updated list, the company known as “Köfteci Yusuf Hazır Yemek Temizlik Canlı Hayvan Et Mamulleri Entegre Gıda İthalat İhracat Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ,” also known in the public as “Köfteci Yusuf,” which was recently in the news for allegations of using pork in their products, has been included. It was reported that pork was found in the meatball and beef döner products during inspections at the company’s two branches in Yenişehir, Bursa in February. Therefore, the company’s said establishments were added to the “Foods endangering health” section. COMPANY DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS
Minutes before the Ministry updated the list, a statement was made on Köfteci Yusuf’s social media accounts stating that pork was not used in the products. The statement emphasized that many technical errors made during the sampling process had distorted the analysis results from reality. The statement also said, “It is not possible for any adulteration to take place in our company, which has 280 branches throughout Turkey and employs 12,000 personnel,” evaluating the situation.
