A dispute between families over the Karate Kid movie led an easyJet plane to make an emergency landing in Portugal. A woman on the plane reportedly attacked a five-year-old child watching the 2010 classic film’s new version.
“ATTACKED WITH RACIST REMARKS” According to The Sun, the mother of the five-year-old child claimed that her son was watching the movie with the sound “low.” However, a furious woman sitting four rows ahead allegedly shouted “racist remarks” at the child to close the movie. The pilot changed the route to make an emergency landing in Porto, Portugal, after the physical altercation.
BOTH FAMILIES WERE REMOVED FROM THE PLANE Local police greeted the plane upon landing, and both families were removed from the flight heading to London due to their behavior. The child’s mother is threatening to sue the airline for the incident that “frightened and upset” her family.
THEY WON’T BE ABLE TO FLY WITH THE AIRLINE AGAIN In a statement to The Sun newspaper, she said, “This incident involved racist harassment, discrimination, and physical assault. My son was extremely scared and distressed.” Both families were forced to find their way from Porto, as the airline ordered that those involved in the inflight skirmish will not be allowed on future flights.
