Israel has declared many regions along the Lebanon border as military zones. Meanwhile, Lebanese forces have withdrawn at least 5 kilometers from their positions near the Israeli border in the south. Reports indicate Israeli military vehicles started moving towards the Lebanon border in the following hours. The Israeli army has issued evacuation calls to civilians living in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Israel is gearing up for a ground operation towards Lebanon. The US Department of State Spokesperson Matthew Miller disclosed that Israel had briefed the US on a series of limited ground operations planned in Lebanon.
Miller stated, “We have had discussions with them about these operations, but I will let them speak to the timing and purpose of these actions. They briefed us on a series of operations. They have informed us that these are limited operations focusing on the Hezbollah infrastructure close to the border, but we are in constant discussions about this.”
Miller also urged both sides not to take actions escalating tension and to accept a ceasefire. ISRAELI MILITARY VEHICLES MOVING TOWARDS LEBANON BORDER According to witnesses observed by an AA reporter, sounds of military vehicles heading towards the village of Abel el-Kamh across from the el-Vezzani border area in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army commenced shelling with artillery fire, were heard. Witnesses emphasized hearing the noise of numerous military vehicles, also noting Israeli artillery targeting the el-Vezzani border area with artillery fire.
EVACUATION CALL FOR THOSE IN SOUTHERN BEIRUT
The Israeli army issued an evacuation call to civilians living in the southern suburbs of Beirut due to the alleged upcoming attacks on Hezbollah targets.
ISRAEL DECLARES THREE AREAS AS MILITARY ZONES The Israeli army declared the areas of Metula, Misgav Am, and Kfar Giladi located along the Lebanon border as military zones. The army’s statement emphasized that entering these areas is strictly prohibited. LEBANESE FORCES WITHDRAWN FROM POSITIONS AT ISRAELI BORDER Meanwhile, Lebanese forces have withdrawn at least 5 kilometers from their positions along the Israeli border.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant hinted at an attack on Lebanon by visiting armored units in the country’s north earlier this morning.
