The Israeli military demanded the evacuation of certain areas in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. Palestinians were called upon to go to shelters west of Khan Yunis.
Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee, in a statement on the X account, warned Palestinians living in some areas of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip to evacuate their homes. Adraee stated, “We reiterate our urgent warning to residents of Rafah’s eastern and western areas, the towns of En-Nasr, Esh-Shujaeya, and neighborhoods of As-Salam, Al-Menara, and Kayzan en-Najjar.” Adraee emphasized that Palestinians living in these areas needed to urgently go to shelters in the Mevasi area west of Khan Yunis. The Israeli military had expanded its ground invasion in the southern Gaza Strip on March 29.
90% OF PALESTINIANS HAD BEEN DISPLACED
During the attacks that started on October 7, 2023, and continued until the ceasefire on January 19, 2025, the Israeli military had also released maps instructing Palestinians to migrate within Gaza. According to figures shared by the United Nations, approximately 90% of the 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza had been displaced at least once due to Israeli military attacks. The Israeli military had violated the ceasefire on January 19 by launching intense attacks on the Gaza Strip on the morning of March 18.
