Reports indicate that Israeli soldiers destroyed four homes and set two houses on fire in the occupied West Bank’s Jenin Refugee Camp. Witnesses stated that Israeli army bulldozers carried out demolition operations during daylight in the Jenin Refugee Camp. Witnesses noted that the Israeli army demolished four homes at the camp and set two houses on fire under the pretext of creating access roads and connecting the camp’s center to other streets. Meanwhile, in the Nur Shams Refugee Camp in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, Israeli forces entered with bulldozers and demolition equipment and started to demolish 17 homes. The head of the Nur Shams Refugee Camp Services Committee, Nehad al-Shawish, had previously stated that the Israeli army had warned that 17 homes would be demolished for “road construction” purposes in the Maneshieh neighborhood. Shawish reminded that in the past week alone, 11 homes were demolished, pointing out that the at-risk housing units consisted of multiple apartments, potentially leaving dozens of families homeless. Israel has been demolishing homes of Palestinians in refugee camps in Tulkarem and Jenin for over two months under the pretext of “road construction”.
