Israeli Claim: Hamas Leader Sinwar May Have Been Killed

The Israeli army has announced that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar may have been killed in a recent operation. The army stated that during an operation targeting Hamas members, the possibility of Sinwar being killed is being investigated. Israeli Army Radio reported that visual evidence indicated one of the deceased was Sinwar, with DNA tests still underway. Shortly after, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz declared, “Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar has died.” Meanwhile, Hezbollah sources reported signs that Yahya Sinwar may have been killed.

The Israeli army announced that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar may have been killed in a recent operation. Israeli Army Radio revealed that the incident occurred during a targeted ground operation in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah.

According to the statement, three Hamas members were targeted in the operation in the Gaza Strip.

The statement indicated that the possibility of Sinwar being killed during the operation is being investigated, but identity verification is pending.

Israeli state media KAN confirmed Sinwar’s death, citing two Israeli officials, and the Security Cabinet was informed about Sinwar’s death.

“VISUAL EVIDENCE INDICATES SINWAR”

Israeli Army Radio reported that visual evidence indicated one of the deceased was Sinwar, with DNA tests still ongoing.

Israel possesses DNA samples taken from Sinwar during his time in an Israeli prison.

The army also claimed there was no sign of Israeli hostages in the targeted building during the attack.

ISRAELI FOREIGN MINISTER: HAMAS LEADER DECEASED

As uncertainties persist regarding Yahya Sinwar’s current status, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz declared, “Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar has died.” Hezbollah sources also reported signs that Yahya Sinwar may have passed away.

CNN International Television conveyed that Israeli officials shared initial DNA results indicating that Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar had perished.

SINWAR LONG A TARGET OF ISRAEL

Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported recently that Israel had been bombing tunnels in areas where Sinwar was suspected to be hiding in recent months.

It was claimed that Israel promised Sinwar a “safe exit” from Gaza last month in exchange for the immediate release of all hostages.

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar had been elected to replace Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated. Sinwar was known as the mastermind behind the October 7, 2023 Israeli attack.
