Israel continues its airstrikes on Lebanon. Israeli warplanes carried out over 30 attacks on the city of Baalbek and its villages. More than 50 civilians lost their lives in the attacks, and 63 people were wounded. According to a report on Lebanon’s official NNA news agency, Israeli warplanes launched over 30 attacks on the city of Baalbek and its villages. The attacks resulted in over 50 deaths, including women, and 63 injuries. The report noted that the attacks on various parts of Baalbek and the Bekaa Valley targeted defenseless civilians. One of the attacks targeted an old house in the Sheikhani neighborhood in Baalbek, where impoverished families lived, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and injuring 9 others. The losses due to the attacks were reported. Baalbek al-Hermel Governor Bashir Haidar previously stated that 30 people had died and 35 were injured in 20 attacks carried out by the Israeli military. The Israeli army’s attacks on the Baalbek district are now in their seventh day. Lebanese experts, referring to Baalbek as a source of manpower for Hezbollah, noted the extensive influence and popular support the organization has in the area. The historic city of Baalbek, dating back approximately 3,000 years, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
