1 Mins Read

Israel’s attacks on Lebanon persist. The Israeli army claimed that Hashim Safiyuddin, the Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah and seen as the successor to Hasan Nasrallah, was killed in an airstrike on October 4th in Dahiyeh, located in the south of Beirut.

The statement also mentioned that during the same attack, Hussein Ali Hazima, the head of Hezbollah’s intelligence unit, was also killed. It was reported that during the attack, more than 25 Hezbollah members, including high-ranking commanders, were present at the headquarters.

Hezbollah has not yet made a statement regarding Safiyuddin. Following the death of Hasan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike in Dahiyeh on September 27th, Hashim Safiyuddin’s name had emerged as a potential leader.
