A foreign worker was killed and five others were seriously injured as a result of Israel bombing a United Nations center in Gaza.
Reportedly, Israel targeted the home of a civilian defense staff member in the southern part of Gaza city. An announcement from the Civil Defense Directorate in Gaza stated that civilian defense staff member Ahmed Muhammed Hattab lost his life as Israel attacked his home in the Sabra neighborhood in the south.
Moreover, as a result of Israel bombing a United Nations center in the central part of the Gaza Strip, one foreign worker was killed, and five others were severely wounded. The targeted foreign workers were identified as personnel of the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).
Following the ceasefire that came into effect on January 19 in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army resumed intense attacks. In the airstrikes carried out by the Israeli army on Gaza Strip on the morning of 18 March, at least 400 people, mostly women and children, lost their lives, while over 500 Palestinians were injured. A statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office indicated that the attacks were initiated based on the instructions of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz.
Hamas declared that Israel had breached the ceasefire and announced its intention to act with “increasing military force” against Hamas. Hamas accused Israel of not keeping its promises and of resuming its genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by failing to fulfill its responsibilities in front of the mediating countries during the ceasefire. Families of Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip accused the Netanyahu government of “abandoning the captives” and pointed out that the government’s rationale of restarting the war to bring back the captives was “pure deception.” Opposition parties in Israel also highlighted that the attacks had resumed under the shadow of controversial political moves such as the dismissal of the head of the domestic intelligence agency Shin-Bet by Prime Minister Netanyahu.
