In an Israeli airstrike on the Syrian capital Damascus, the son-in-law of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, Hasan Kasir, and Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps member Mecid Divani were killed.
During the airstrike conducted by Israel on a three-story building in the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus yesterday, Hasan Kasir, the son-in-law of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, and Mecid Divani, a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, lost their lives.
Kasir was also the brother of senior Hezbollah commander Muhammed Cafer Kasir who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut, Lebanon’s capital, yesterday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated, “Hasan Cafer Kasir, the son-in-law of Hasan Nasrallah, was one of the two Lebanese killed in the Israeli attack targeting an apartment in the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus.”
Mecid Divani, a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps reported to have been wounded in the attack, succumbed to his injuries due to their severity. The semi-official Iranian Student News Agency (SNN) mentioned that Divani was serving as a military advisor in Syria and was an active and important member of the Revolutionary Guards Corps. Israel had carried out airstrikes on the capital of Syria, Damascus, on the night of October 1st.
The targeted area of Mezze where the attack took place also housed the Iranian Embassy in Damascus. Syrian state television presenter Safa Ahmed also lost her life in the attack.
