Israeli security forces uncovered a spy network consisting of seven Israeli citizens working for Iran. The Shin Bet intelligence agency discovered the Haifa-based spy network. The suspects accused of espionage are expected to be indicted by Friday.
PHOTOGRAPHING MILITARY BASES Five Israeli men and two children are alleged to have photographed military bases hit by Iran’s ballistic missiles earlier this month. The spies gathered intelligence on sensitive Israeli facilities such as military bases, national energy infrastructure, and Iron Dome air defense systems. According to the allegations, the suspects used advanced equipment provided by Iran to carry out their tasks.
PAYMENT MADE WITH CRYPTOCURRENCY Israeli Police and Shin Bet disclosed that the seven suspects were paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency for their espionage services. Military analysts believe that the information collected by the network could have directly contributed to missile attacks.
ISRAELI GOVERNMENT ON ALERT A senior Shin Bet official claimed that the network’s actions seriously harmed national security, alleging that the suspects transmitted comprehensive sensitive materials, including photographs and videos of strategic locations across Israel, to Iran. The police spokesperson stated that the scale and seriousness of the suspects’ actions rank among the most dangerous Israel has faced to date.
