Following the news of the death of Hezbollah Secretary General Hasan Nasrallah, Israel has resumed bombing Lebanon. The Lebanese national news agency reported that at least 11 healthcare personnel lost their lives in a series of airstrikes targeting health facilities in the villages of Taybeh and Deir Seryan.
Eyewitnesses speaking to Reuters news agency stated that Israel’s airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut continued today.
It was reported that smoke was rising from the affected area of the attacks. Lebanese security sources also confirmed the attacks.
Hezbollah announced that they had responded to the attacks by launching more than 50 rockets towards the Israeli settlements of Metzuva and Maloot in the north.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, at least 11 healthcare personnel lost their lives in a series of airstrikes targeting health facilities in the villages of Taybeh and Deir Seryan in the Marjeyoun region of southern Lebanon. The agency reported that 10 people were injured in the attacks on the facilities operated by the Islamic Health Institution. In a separate incident, the Lebanese Civil Defense reported that one of its members was killed and another seriously injured in Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut late Friday night. According to figures released by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Israel’s airstrikes since Monday have caused the deaths of over 700 people and approximately 2,200 injuries in Lebanon. The Ministry also stated that since last October, 1,540 people have died in Lebanon, and over 77,000 individuals have been displaced in the country’s southern and eastern regions.
