Israel prevented the entry of two Labour Party members of Parliament from the UK. The purpose of the visit by the known MPs who frequently call for boycotting Israel was claimed to be to monitor the army and spread anti-Israel hate speech.
According to The Times of Israel newspaper, the plane carrying Labour Party MPs Abtisam Mohamed and Yuan Yang along with two aides landed at Ben Gurion Airport yesterday at 14:30.
Mohamed and Yang, who are said to often call for boycotting Israel, stated during questioning at the airport that they were part of a delegation visiting Israel on behalf of the UK Parliament.
ENTRY INTO ISRAEL BLOCKED The Israeli Ministry of Interior claimed that there was no official delegation from the UK visiting the country, and therefore blocked the entry of the mentioned MPs and their two aides. The Ministry alleged that the purpose of Mohamed and Yang’s visit was to “monitor (Israel’s attacks) and spread anti-Israel hate speech.” The Tel Aviv administration had previously denied entry to European Parliament MPs Lynn Boylan and Rima Hassan during an official visit in February.
