Israel and US Revealed Exile Plan: Seeking a Country in Africa

2 Mins Read

According to the American news agency Associated Press, the US and Israel have been in touch with officials from three East African countries to facilitate the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza.

Israel and the US have pushed ahead with President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza.

Based on the report from Associated Press relying on American and Israeli officials, the US and Israel have reached out to officials from three East African countries to discuss the use of their lands for the resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza.

The contacts made with Sudan, Somalia, and the separatist region known as Somaliland reflect the determination of the US and Israel to advance a widely condemned plan that raises serious legal and ethical issues.

Given the poverty and, in some cases, violence in all three locations, the proposal casts a shadow on Trump’s goal of relocating Palestinians in Gaza to a “beautiful area.”

While officials from Sudan stated they have rejected offers from the US, authorities from Somalia and Somaliland told Associated Press that they were not aware of any contacts.

President Donald Trump had previously claimed that all Palestinians needed to leave Gaza, at least temporarily, after a peace agreement, insisting that it would turn the region into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

However, Trump stated in a recent announcement that no Palestinians would be expelled from Gaza.

EGYPT’S PLAN

In response to Trump’s plan, Egypt prepared a new proposal to be presented to the American administration, which had received support from the Arab League. Egypt’s plan focuses on the renewal of Gaza without displacing Palestinians.
