Iran’s Attack on Israel Reveals Damage Cost

2 Mins Read

Recent reports have exposed the cost of the missile attack by Iran on Israel. According to the Israeli Tax Authority, the attack resulted in damages ranging between 150 billion to 200 billion shekels (40 million to 53 million dollars). This amount stands as the largest damage Israel has suffered since the start of the conflict with Gaza on October 7, 2023.

Data from Israel shows that hundreds of structures were damaged in the missile attack conducted by Iran on October 1. The Jerusalem Post newspaper of Israel claimed that the attack caused damages between 150 billion to 200 billion shekels (40 million to 53 million dollars) according to the Israeli Tax Authority.

ISRAELI PEOPLE DEMAND COMPENSATION
In the two weeks following the October 1 attack, approximately 2,500 claims were filed. More than half of the claims were related to damages suffered by buildings and businesses in the north of Tel Aviv, as well as dozens of houses and a restaurant. The remaining damages were concentrated in other areas of Tel Aviv in the south and central Israel, including a school. It is still unclear how much damage was caused by missiles hitting directly and falling debris when missiles were intercepted.

AIR BASES TARGETED NOT INCLUDED IN THE ACCOUNTS
The calculated cost in the report does not account for damages done to the Tel Nof and Nevatim air bases. Government reports of Israel indicate that Iran used advanced weapons in the attack, and their missiles breached the airspace. The Israeli Tax Authority disclosed that 1.5 billion shekels had been paid in compensation for damaged properties since October 7, 2023. Expecting around 1 billion shekels more to be paid, mainly in the north of Israel, along with unclaimed damages.
