Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reported that since the Adapazarı-Gebze Regional Train was reintroduced in 2021, a total of 2,522,568 passengers have used the service.
Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu highlighted the modernization efforts along the Adapazarı-Gebze Regional Train route, emphasizing that the line was reopened in 2021 after these improvements. He stated, “Through our modernization works, we have not only enhanced travel comfort but also provided a higher standard of transportation.”
Regarding the reintroduction of the line in 2021, Minister Uraloğlu mentioned, “From the opening date to the present, a total of 2,522,568 passengers have traveled on our service.” He also pointed out the era of National Electric Train Sets starting in 2023 on the Adapazarı-Gebze Regional Train. Minister Uraloğlu said, “We have started using National Electric Train Sets, locally manufactured by TÜRASAŞ, one of the largest industrial establishments in our country, for the first time on the Adapazarı-Gebze line.”
He further added, “Our sets, known for their comfort, have conducted 3,803 trips so far covering 369,488 kilometers. Our national trains have served 867,770 citizens to date.” Minister Uraloğlu also mentioned the increase in the number of stops on the Adapazarı-Gebze line, saying, “We have increased the number of stops to 13, making the regional train an essential part of daily transportation for those living in the Marmara region.”
He stated, “There are 10 daily trips between Adapazarı and Gebze. We also opened the Kırkikievler and Köseköy stops on September 27. By increasing the number of stops to 13, we have facilitated more access for our citizens to the train. With the growing number of stops, we expect an increase in passenger demand. A passenger boarding the train from Adapazarı reaches Gebze in just 1 hour and 27 minutes.”
