Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, announced that 920 million lira in fines were issued during workplace inspections in 2024. Minister Işıkhan shared the results of inspections conducted in workplaces in 2024. In a statement on his social media account, Minister Işıkhan noted: “We carry out our inspection duties in workplaces with sensitivity. With the Guidance and Inspection Directorate, we conducted inspection activities in 2024 with 900 labor inspectors. We reached 2 million employees in over 12 thousand workplaces. We ensured the payment of 1.8 billion lira in worker receivables and 710 million lira in public receivables. We imposed 920 million lira in administrative fines on businesses that did not rectify violations of regulations. We issued orders to halt work in 179 businesses to prevent life-threatening situations for employees.”
