Increasing death toll in Helene Hurricane hitting the USA

The death toll in the southeastern states of the USA due to the disasters caused by Hurricane Helene, which reached category 4 on the coast of Florida last week, has risen to over 105. The adverse effects of Hurricane Helene, which hit the Florida coast at about 225 kilometers per hour, continue.

Officials announced that the number of people who lost their lives in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia due to the severe winds and rainfall brought by the hurricane has exceeded 105. According to CNN, officials stated that 600 people could not be reached in Buncombe County alone in North Carolina, with a total of 36 deaths across the state.

US President Joe Biden is expected to visit the areas affected by the hurricane during the week. The US National Hurricane Center had announced that Hurricane Helene had hit the northwest coast of Florida at about 225 kilometers per hour. The hurricane quickly affected Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

In Florida, where the hurricane first hit, over 1.2 million homes and businesses experienced power outages, while in Georgia, 1 million, in South Carolina, 1.3 million, and in North Carolina, 600,000. President Biden had declared a “state of emergency” in Florida and North Carolina, instructing “federal aid” for those affected by the hurricane.
