Husilers: 61 civilians killed in US attacks

The Iran-backed Husilers in Yemen announced that 61 civilians were killed and 139 others were injured in the attacks initiated by the United States on March 15.

A statement from the Husilers’ Ministry of Health stated, “In the attacks carried out by the US on Yemen since March 15, 61 civilians were killed and 139 people were injured.” It was reported that since the attacks on Yemen began by the Husilers in the Red Sea in support of Gaza until April 1, 2025, 250 people had died and 714 were injured in the country. No information was provided about military losses. The Iran-backed Husilers had started seizing commercial ships owned by Israeli companies in the waters off Yemen on October 31, 2023, in reaction to Israel’s attacks on Gaza, as well as launching attacks with drones and missiles.

US FORMS SPECIAL MARITIME TASK FORCE The US announced on December 18, 2023, that a multinational “maritime task force” called the “Guardian of Welfare Operation” was established, citing the endangerment of global maritime trade. US President Donald Trump had announced that he had instructed the military to launch a “major attack” against the Husilers in Yemen on March 15. Husilers’ leader Abdulmalek al-Houthi had warned that US aircraft and warships would be targeted by the Husilers, and that if the attacks continued, interruptions in sea voyages would also affect Washington.

OVER 50,000 YEMENIS LEFT WITHOUT WATER Husilers’ television channel, al-Masirah, reported that a water tank in the city of Hodeidah was hit in US attacks, stating that the tank provided water to 8 regions, resulting in over 50,000 Yemenis being deprived of drinking water.
