In France, due to extreme heat last year, 3,711 people lost their lives. More than 10 thousand people ended up in the hospital due to the heat. According to data released by the French Public Health Agency, three-quarters of those who died from extreme heat last year were aged 75 and above. In the year 2024, 3,711 people in the country succumbed to extreme heat. Additionally, over 17 thousand individuals sought emergency care for complaints related to heat such as hyperthermia, dehydration, and hyponatremia, while more than 10 thousand were hospitalized. The summer of 2024 in France was recorded as the eighth hottest summer.
