Hidden Arms Depot Discovered in Homs and Latakia

Various weapons and ammunition were found hidden in Homs and Latakia, Syria. Security forces arrested Brigadier General Abdulkerim Ahmed el Hamada, who served as a liaison between the fallen regime leader Assad, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, and Syrian regime officers. According to the official Syrian news agency SANA, based on sources from the Ministry of Interior, an operation carried out by the General Security Directorate led to the discovery of weapons and ammunition concealed in an abandoned well in the rural village of Mudabi in Homs. Additionally, it was reported that various types of weapons and ammunition were also seized in an abandoned depot in the Kirdaha district of Latakia. The seized weapons are being examined, and legal proceedings have been initiated. The news on SANA mentioned that “The General Security Directorate of Deir Ezzor Governorate arrested the criminal Brigadier General Abdulkerim Ahmed el Hamada, a close friend of Maher Assad.” The report also stated that Hamada, who was the reconciliation file director in the Assad regime, served as a liaison between the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Syrian regime officers. Security forces in Syria continue their search operations targeting former Assad regime officers involved in crimes.
