Following US President Donald Trump’s torrent of threats on social media, Hamas wasted no time in responding. The Palestinian group stated that Trump’s threats encouraged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw from the ceasefire agreement and intensify attacks.
Hamas announced that US President Donald Trump’s threats towards Palestinians emboldened Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw from the ceasefire agreement and escalate the blockade on Gaza. Hamas spokesperson Abdullatif Al-Kanua stated to Reuters, “The best way to release the remaining Israeli prisoners is for the ceasefire to move into the second stage and for Israel to be compelled to adhere to the agreement signed under the auspices of mediators.”
TRUMP’S THREAT TO HAMAS Trump demanded that Hamas release all hostages immediately, including the remains of dead hostages. In his statement, the US President said, “If the hostages are not released, it will be hell for you. If you don’t do what I say, not a single Hamas member will be safe. I have met with the former hostages whose lives you have ruined. This is your final warning.”
