Hamas announced on its Telegram channel that a delegation led by Halil Hayye has traveled to Cairo to meet with Egyptian and Qatari mediators. The statement emphasized that talks will be held to halt the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people, expressing willingness to consider any proposal ensuring a permanent ceasefire, complete withdrawal of occupying forces from the Gaza Strip, an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people, and a substantial prisoner exchange agreement. Following the ceasefire violation by the Israeli army, it resumed its intense attacks on Gaza. The Israeli military resumed its violent assaults on the morning of March 18, following the ceasefire that came into effect on January 19 in the Gaza Strip. Israel announced its intention to act “with increasing military force” against Hamas, citing the rejection of new ceasefire proposals. Hamas, on the other hand, accused Israel of not keeping its promises and restarting genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza by failing to fulfill its responsibilities in front of the mediating countries during the ceasefire. Since the resumption of Israeli attacks, a total of 1563 Palestinians, mostly elderly, women, and children, have lost their lives, while 4,004 others have been injured.
