Hamas reiterated its readiness to continue negotiations with full responsibility, emphasizing that the resistance has been involved in previous efforts to stop attacks on Gaza. Mahmoud Merdavi, one of Hamas’ leaders, mentioned in a written statement that various initiatives and proposals have been made to halt the attacks in Gaza, provide humanitarian aid, and take political steps. Merdavi stated that steps such as withdrawal from Gaza, prisoner exchange, initiating the reconstruction process, and lifting the blockade are being considered. He criticized Israel for backtracking on agreements, not keeping promises to mediators, and returning to a policy of massacre and attacks. Merdavi emphasized that this not only demonstrates the occupier’s arrogant attitude but also poses a new challenge to the international community, forcing them to choose between acting in accordance with law and justice or continuing with double standards. This situation not only threatens the stability of Palestine but the entire region. Merdavi confirmed Hamas’ commitment to both struggle and negotiation processes to achieve its goals, emphasizing that resistance has always been a legitimate path to justice and freedom. Lastly, Merdavi called on the Arab and Islamic world, as well as free peoples and organizations, to go beyond symbolic statements and take concrete steps to support the fundamental cause of Palestine, Jerusalem, and the Muslim community.
