The flag of Azerbaijan, hoisted in the State Flag Square in the capital city of Baku, has entered the Guinness World Records for its size. The flag, measuring 36 meters in width and 72 meters in length, weighs over 500 kilograms. Officially recognized by the Guinness World Records on November 6th, the flag was raised in a ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s Victory Day.
The flagpole at the State Flag Square in Baku, standing at 162 meters tall, was previously acknowledged by the Guinness World Records in 2010 as the tallest flagpole in the world. Subsequently, flagpoles in Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt (201.9 m) had surpassed this record.
