The owner of SpaceX, Elon Musk, announced that two NASA astronauts stranded in space due to a malfunction with the Boeing Starliner will return to Earth within a few weeks aboard the Dragon spacecraft.

Elon Musk, owner of the space transportation company SpaceX, stated that they will rescue two NASA astronauts who have been stranded at the International Space Station (ISS) since June, saying, “We will bring them back in a few weeks.”

After being unable to return to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) for about 9 months due to a malfunction on the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore received good news from Elon Musk, the owner of the American space transportation company SpaceX.

Musk mentioned in an interview with the U.S. press that the two astronauts who couldn’t be brought back to Earth will be rescued by SpaceX. Musk stated, “Yes, we will bring them back in a few weeks.” If all goes well, NASA announced that the stranded astronauts will depart from the ISS on March 16 aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. Musk’s recent statement came just before the launch of the Dragon spacecraft carrying the astronauts who will replace Williams and Wilmore.

TRUMP REQUESTED ASSISTANCE
In June of last year, NASA astronauts sent to the ISS with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft were stranded at the space station due to a malfunction. U.S. President Donald Trump blamed the Joe Biden administration for the astronauts not being brought back to Earth and requested assistance from Elon Musk for a rescue operation. Musk previously claimed in a statement that efforts to bring the astronauts back earlier were thwarted by the Biden administration for “political reasons.”
