It has been reported that Palestinian Ali Ashour Ali al-Batsh, who was detained in the Gaza Strip, passed away in Israel’s Nafha Prison. A period of extreme lethality in imprisonment has been experienced in Israeli prisons since 1967.
A joint statement from the Prisoners and Released Prisoners Committee affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Prisoners Society indicated that 62-year-old Gazan detainee Ali Ashour Ali al-Batsh lost his life in Israel. It was mentioned that Batsh, a resident of the Jabalia area in the northern Gaza Strip, who was detained on December 25, 2023, and held in Nafha Prison in Israel, was taken to the hospital on February 21 and later died. It was shared that Batsh was married and a father of 6 children.
62 PALESTINIANS HAVE DIED SINCE OCTOBER 7 The statement mentioned that since Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip, 62 Palestinians have died in occupation prisons, with 40 of them being from the Gaza Strip. Emphasizing that the number of Palestinians who have died in Israeli prisons has increased to 4 in a short period, the statement pointed out that this is the deadliest period in terms of imprisonment since 1967.
