The chairmanship of the Board of Directors of Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group (TOGG) has been awarded to Fuat Tosyalı, a member of TOGG’s Board of Directors.

During a board meeting of Turkey’s Automotive Initiative Group Industry and Trade Inc., Fuat Tosyalı was elected as the Chairman of TOGG’s Board of Directors. According to a statement by TOGG, the Ordinary General Assembly Meeting for the year 2023 took place on September 24th at the company’s headquarters in Gebze Informatics Valley with the participation of all shareholders. After the General Assembly meeting, there were changes in the membership of the board of directors. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, who was representing TOBB on the Board of Directors of Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group Industry and Trade Inc., passed on his duties to Hakan Ülken, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. Tuncay Özilhan, who was representing Anadolu Group, passed on his representation duties on the board to Talip Altuğ Aksoy, a Member of the Board of Directors of Anadolu Group, while Bekir Cem Köksal, the CEO of Zorlu Holding who was representing Zorlu Group on TOGG’s Board of Directors, passed on his duties to Olgun Zorlu, the Vice Chairman of Zorlu Holding. At the end of the General Assembly, the members of the Board of Directors of Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group Industry and Trade Inc. were Fuat Tosyalı, Ahmet Nazif Zorlu, Kamilhan Süleyman Yazıcı, Talip Altuğ Aksoy, Ali Taha Koç, Şerif Yavuz Tosyalı, Şenol Kazancı, Olgun Zorlu, and Hakan Ülken. The newly formed TOGG Board of Directors held its first meeting today where the distribution of tasks was determined. Fuat Tosyalı, who is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, was born in Hatay in 1961. Taking over the business started by his father, Hacı Şerif Tosyalı, in the 1970s in stove pipe and boiler production and boiler plate manufacturing, Tosyalı embarked on an active business life and established Tosyalı Metal Trading Company in 1988. In 1993, by founding Tosyalı Iron and Steel Industry Inc., Tosyalı took the first step into industrial production with construction steel production in 1994 and soon became able to manufacture in various segments of steel production with different companies. In 1996, as he established Tosyalı Foreign Trade Inc., he made his first export, and in 1998, he gathered all companies under the umbrella of Tosyalı Holding. Tosyalı, a pioneer in the private sector flat steel production in Turkey in 2010 and one of the top 100 exporting companies in Turkey in 2006, directed his focus towards joint investments with global giants and global markets. In 2011, he laid the foundations of Tosyalı Algerie, the largest industrial investment of Turkey abroad, and transformed Tosyalı Group into a global steel industry giant by investing in Senegal, Angola, Libya-Benghazi, Spain, and Gulf countries. The group launched Tosyalı Toyo with the Japanese giant Toyo Kohan and Tosyalı Harsco with the American company Harsco. Tosyalı has also been serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BMC Automotive Industry and Trade Inc., one of Turkey’s oldest commercial and military vehicle manufacturers, since 2021. Tosyalı also holds the positions of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Steel Producers of Turkey (TÇÜD), Chairman of the Mediterranean Iron and Non-Iron Metals Exporters’ Association, Coordinator Chairman of the Africa Business Councils of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), and Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkey Wealth Fund and the Turkey Tax Council.
