As Israel’s genocide in Gaza continues, French doctor Pascal Andre and 2 other healthcare workers began a hunger strike on March 31 in the southern French city of Marseille, calling for “justice in Palestine.”
So far, 15 people across France have joined the hunger strike, with 95 others on a solidarity fast. Currently, 11 individuals are continuing the hunger strike.
Participants in the protest are demanding the implementation of international law and humanitarian law in Gaza where the genocide is ongoing, from the French and European Union (EU) authorities.
Hunger strikes in different cities in France will continue in a series of actions until April 24, when the final demonstration will take place in Belgium.
President of the Strasbourg Palestine Community, Sihabi, stated: “The aim is to immediately establish a ceasefire, allow humanitarian aid, apply sanctions against Israel, halt agreements between Europe and Israel, and demand the recognition of the Palestinian state.”
