Foreign Minister Fidan: Peace is not possible without stopping Israel

1 Mins Read

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that genocide continues in Gaza and Israel persists in its expansionist policies, emphasizing the need to progress based on Egypt’s Gaza plan. According to information from Foreign Ministry sources, Fidan addressed the OIC and Arab League Gaza Contact Group Meeting in Cairo, Egypt. While this meeting was ongoing, Fidan expressed that genocide, forced displacement, and apartheid are still ongoing in Gaza, highlighting that the Israeli air strikes on March 18 revealed Israel’s broader agenda. Fidan pointed out that the prevention of humanitarian aid delivery and targeting of Syrian and Lebanese territories are indicators of Israel’s insistence on this expansionist policy, stating that “Peace is not possible in the region without stopping Israel. Our priority should be to stop the destruction in Gaza and achieve a lasting ceasefire. Pressure on Israel must be increased.” Fidan emphasized the need to utilize platforms such as the United Nations for an urgent and lasting ceasefire. Minister Fidan stated that Egypt’s Gaza plan, supported by all OIC countries, provides a constructive framework and progress should be made based on this plan.
