Once again, the Israeli army attacked the Jabalia Refugee Camp in the northern Gaza Strip under intense assault and blockade. Seven Palestinians who were forcibly removed from the school where they sought shelter were targeted and killed by artillery fire, while many other Palestinians were injured.
Israeli forces forcibly removed displaced Palestinians at the Jabalia Refugee Camp from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)-affiliated school where they had taken refuge. The Israeli army targeted the Palestinians it forced out with artillery fire, killing 7 of them and injuring many others. Officials at Kamal Adwan Hospital reported that 7 Palestinians killed in the attack were brought to the hospital along with numerous injured individuals.
PLAN TO FORCE PALESTINIANS INTO EXILE The Israeli army, which carried out intense airstrikes in the north of Gaza, including the Jabalia Refugee Camp on October 5th, launched a ground attack on these areas on October 6th. This step is believed to be aimed at evacuating Palestinians from the north of Gaza in order to prepare settlements for Israelis, as previously reported in the Israeli media as the “generals’ plan”.
IS THE “GENERALS’ PLAN” BEING IMPLEMENTED? Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared a map of areas in Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, and Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip on October 7th, calling on Palestinians to evacuate these areas. Adraee’s call for Palestinians to go to the Mevasi area in southern Gaza and the similarity of the shared map to the “generals’ plan” for the forced migration of Palestinians prepared by former Chief of Operations General Giora Eiland and presented to the government drew attention. While the Israeli government did not make a statement regarding the plan reported in the media last month, Israeli state television channel KAN announced in a news report that the cabinet had examined the plan in September.
