The lifeless bodies of the five Russian mountaineers who were reported missing since Sunday in Nepal have been discovered.

They are said to have fallen to their deaths while climbing Dhaulagiri, the world’s seventh-highest mountain at 8,167 meters. The mountaineers’ bodies were located by a rescue helicopter. The Kathmandu-based company organizing the climbing tours stated that two of the climbers had reached the summit, while the others turned back before reaching it, but communication between the climbers and the team was lost. The process of retrieving the bodies from the mountain and formulating a plan for the operation is still uncertain.
